education, community outreach, and collective wellbeing.
LAUNCHING THE SAESA 96/03 STUDENTS ASSISTANCE PROJECT
Building on the spirit of community mentioned in our story, the SAESA-96/03 Students Assistance Project is a dedicated initiative designed to support current students at SAC who are facing challenges due to the ongoing socio-political crisis.
The Pilot Phase (late 2023)
Launched with $681.00, this initial effort provided essential hygiene items including sanitary pads and Dettol soap and a weekly Saturday "puff-puff" snack for 294 boarding students.
Scaling Up for 2023/2024
Following the success of the pilot, the project expanded to meet the needs of a growing student body, totaling 493 boarders
Substantial Fundraising
For the 2023/2024 academic year, the group successfully raised $3,299.53 USD and 277,300.00 FCFA to keep the momentum going.
Consistent Support: The initiative continues to provide pieces of puff-puff every Saturday alongside large quantities of sanitary pads and various bathing soaps to ensure the students’ well-being.
This project is fueled by the generosity of benefactors, and the SAESA-96 community continues to welcome donations to keep this vital support system alive for the students.
